![]() This has mainly to do with the characters that make it interesting. While sometimes predictable, It got me invested that I never thought it would have. Which is completely natural and makes the relationship between the two even realistic. He comprehend many emotions, but since it cannot manifest them, it is difficult to fully understand them. ![]() They are so fantastic together and what makes it better is the fact that Golem has no emotions, so you at no point of its runtime you'll hearing him scream because Somali did something she shouldn't have. They're not releated by blood but that's the great thing since it shows that it is not necessary to be related by blood to show the effect to someone. "Somali" is extraordinarily in every field but the best thing about this are clearly the two main characters, Somali and Golem that share a great daughter-father relationship. An anime it could make me laugh, think, cry and more importantly care about characters, each of them and all in a span of 12 episodes. Yes, "Somali to Mori no Kamisama" is a masterpiece of an anime and not simply one of them, it's THE masterpiece I was looking for. that happens twice in 400 years and the time has finally come for this masterpiece to be seen. Why go back when you can experience such a thing in the first place? Its something Oh no you can't, and that's a good thing. You wouldn't immediately think about any of this at first as it has a slow start but when it starts for real it goes at 360 in 6 seconds and you can not go back. From the character gimmicks to the grandiose story. This anime is everything you could wish for. Thoughtful moments? It's deeper than you think. Interesting characters? Without any doubt.Ī good father figure? Better than mine (kidding). Perhaps the only down side is that it felt a bit too short, I would have loved to accompany Somali and her Dad through a couple more episodes.Īnyway, I loved every moment of it and I can't recommend it enough, the closest to a perfect anime I've seen in a long time.A depressed story? You'd be crying twice. ![]() Overall, it's a wonderful story which I think everyone should experience at least once it made me cry, laugh, scream, it created such a wide array of emotions which few works of fiction have ever managed to accomplish. The animation is beautiful and the world they travel through is outstandingly gorgeous, the great variety of creatures and the stories of those they encounter along the way paints a rather harsh yet powerful sense of how the world they are in operates, leading you to root even further for Somali and her monster Dad to succeed in their quest. Most of the characters they encounter are relatable in some way, they all have something special and nice about them which makes you able to grow to love and care deeply for them from the first time they appear on screen (with a few exceptions of course, no spoilers.) Without being too spoilery, the story follows the journey of a human girl with a Golem, a creature from the forest whowants to help her find other humans in a world inhabited by monsters where humans have been brought to the edge of extinction.ĭespite dealing with some strong issues from time to time, the story itself is one of love and self realization, where both Somali and her Golem companion learn to care for each other and grow as individuals, bonding throughout their journey in a way that I can only describe as wholesome, adorable and entertaining a wonderful Father-daughter dynamic I've seldom seen before. I'll begin by saying that calling this a masterpiece is an understatement, this is perhaps one of the best anime to come out in recent years, and one of the best I've ever watched. ![]() First time writing a review on the site, yet I feel like I must write this in the hopes that more people can stumble upon this gem of an anime. ![]()
